Compliance Navigator®: Web Application or Desktop Application?
For more information, download
our white paper on Web Apps vs. Desktop Apps.
Web applications run on an internet web server and
generate HTML web pages that are displayed to the user through a web
browser. All user interaction takes place through a web browser.
A desktop application performs its operations on
the client computer, and may access a centrally located database.
However, it does not require a web browser or web server, and does not
generate HTML pages.
Compliance Navigator is both!
The Compliance Navigator desktop application provides full
functionality with a feature-rich user interface. The Compliance
Navigator web module provides the convenience of browser-based access to
your data through an internet connection. The web application supports
read/write access to tasks, audits, findings, issues, and actions. The
desktop application supports these features but adds:
- Model building capabilities with task scheduling.
- Document management
- Administrative capabilities, such as adding users,
setting user permissions, and managing resource.
Compliance Navigator provides all of the power, features,
and performance of a desktop application, with the convenience and
ease-of-use of a web-based application. Use the desktop application
when you need feature-rich capabilities and performance. Use the
desktop application on-the-road or on-the-go when you can't have access to
your local network. Connect to the same databases with each program
for maximum convenience.
